Description Via Ferrata : Via ferrata / cordata of Grand Canyon

You will meet your certified instructor in the center of La Palud-sur-Verdon, a charming little village nestled in the heart of the Verdon Gorges and the Verdon Regional Natural Park, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region. It is located about 40 minutes from Castellane (on the D956 gorge road towards Moustiers-Sainte-Marie), a popular destination for outdoor activities and whitewater sports in the Verdon Gorges (hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, aquatic trekking, stand-up paddleboarding, and swimming in the lakes).

After meeting your guide at the meeting point, you will follow them in your vehicle for a few kilometers to the starting point of the via cordata.

Your instructor will provide all the necessary equipment for via cordata (a harness equipped with lanyards and automatic carabiners, and a helmet). You will need to bring a pair of sneakers, sportswear (comfortable clothing in which you can move freely), a small backpack, and a bottle of water.

The activity begins with a ten-minute descent on foot. Upon reaching the starting point of the course, your instructor will give you all the necessary instructions to enjoy this thrilling half-day adventure safely.

For about 2 hours, you will navigate through a breathtaking and majestic natural site, enjoying one of the most spectacular views of the Verdon Gorges and the Grand Canyon. The experience includes sections of aerial hiking (always secured to the lifeline attached to the rock face), exciting rope-based challenges (zipline, rappelling, Tarzan jumps, free-fall exercises), and dizzying crossings.

Fully secured from start to finish, this course requires no particular physical strength or technical skills, making it accessible to everyone.

However, since the activity is highly aerial (ranging from 150 to 200 meters in height throughout the via cordata), participants will need to overcome their natural fear of heights. For those who suffer from severe vertigo (panic-level fear), we recommend choosing a less aerial activity.
